Fun at Work

Hai there. How many of you are enjoying your work. Well, when it comes to work, sometimes you have to do things that you might not like but eventually you have to do it.
The story i am going to share is about my team and all the fun we had despite the tough challenges we faced.

This job was a collaboration of TNB Live Line Unit & TNB Transmission Penang. We were required  to install a temporary stay wire to hold back a transmission tower due to soil erosion. This job had to be attended in a fast manner or else we have to face the consequences tower might collapse. Being the backbone of northern region carrying
power line 275 000 volts, this transmission line travels from Temenggor to Bukit Tengah.

In order to reach the affected tower, we had to travel 6 hours OFF ROAD. Only 4x4 vehicles could access to the place. During the journey, we encountered a lot of obstacles and one of it was vehicles getting stuck in the mud. And yes, the 6 hours journey extended a few hours more. Didn't we see any wild animals? You've got to be kidding. It's their home and a tapir was running across the path and disappeared in to the bushes before i could take a picture of it. We even saw a kijang jumped across our 4x4 and fled away.

It was already dusk by the time we reached the site. Everyone was exhausted but the waterfall sound was so tempting and we jumped. The water was so fresh and freezing cold. It was breathtaking after so many hurdles and challenges we went through that day.

After having a wonderful dinner, we slept  soundly under the moonlight. What do you expect? A twin king sized bed with fully air conditioned room? It's all about the nature. It was an extreme adventure we experienced far away from the city. We stayed there for two nights, accomplished the work given and another 10 hours journey back to the road where we started.

We are the Live Line Unit and TOGETHER WE STRONG....

Stay tuned for more updates......see you then
